Make Your Own Medicine Bag
This week, Grandmother Kim has been teaching us all about medicine bags. She has shared her Anishinaabe teachings for what goes inside a medicine bag, who uses them, and what they were traditionally used for. To finish off our Everyday Wellness Medicine Bag Series, Grandmother Kim is going to show us how to make our cloth medicine bags, at home! She uses a sewing machine, but if you don’t have access to one, no problem! Just try hand-stitching. If you need help learning how to hand-stitch you can find a video tutorial linked in the resource section below.
Materials Needed:
- Cloth material (pattern optional!)
- Ribbon
- Needle
- Thread
- Good intentions
