FAQ

Can I apply to more than one sport?

Yes! We encourage you to try out for as many sports as possible at the in-person tryouts. The registration fee is required once per tryout location. Sign up for as many sports as you like. Only pay the registration fee once.

What are the age groups?

The age groups can be found in the NAIG technical package for each sport. Please note that the age groups are defined by year, instead of day. No matter when the athlete’s birthday falls, the age groups are set by birth year.

I only see 16U or 19U divisions for my sport, can I still try out?

Tryouts for some sports are outlined as 16U & 19U divisions, as laid out by Sport Technical Package from the NAIG Organizing Committee. Athletes are welcome to try out for a higher age division if there isn’t one available for their age group in their offered sport. For example, Baseball only has a 19U division, but athletes born 2004 and after are welcomed to try out.

I have questions about the tryout in my region. Who do I contact?

If you have a general question about NAIG tryouts, email team.ontario@iswo.ca. If you have questions about a particular tryout, reach out to the Regional Coordinator in your area. You can find out who the contact for your region is, by visiting this webpage: https://iswo.ca/regions/

Do I need to attend multiple tryouts?

You only need to attend one tryout in person, or submit one online try out application per sport you’re interested in, to be considered for Team Ontario. If you’d like, you can attend multiple tryouts but there will be a $35 tryout fee for each location.

When will I know I made the team?

All Team Ontario rosters will be finalized by May 2023.

Why aren’t there tryouts in my region?

We make every effort to make Team Ontario tryouts accessible and a high-quality experience for everyone involved. As Ontario is such a large province, it is a task to host tryouts for every NAIG sport in every region where interest, logistics and venues may vary. Where in-person tryouts are not available, we have made online tryouts available to all that wish to apply. Email team.ontario@iswo.ca if you have any further questions.
