What is the role of sport/physical activity in your life?

Both sport and physical activity are important aspects in my everyday life. I exercise regularly, and push myself mentally and physically in the gym and when trying new activities. This has been important for my self-improvement and continual growth as a person. As a role model for my daughter, I am an active supporter of her sporting ventures (hockey, basketball, baseball), and make time to train along side her. Sport and physical activity have been important tools in ensuring we live healthy active lifestyles.

 

How do you define wellness?
Wellness is incorporating healthy habits and coping mechanisms into daily living to improve health outcomes including physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, intellectual and social; it is a holistic way of living. Wellness is balance.

 

What are the things you do each day that make you a ‘Wellness Warrior’?
The things I do each day that make me a ‘Wellness Warrior’ are moving my body, connecting with the land, praying, fuelling my body, practicing gratitude, and pushing myself physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, intellectually, and socially to be the best version of myself. I believe we are constantly evolving and learning, and being an active participant in this process is the key.
