Zhahwun will be sharing information on the planning stages of the month-long accredited summer school course that she delivered using the Standing Bear Youth Leadership Program outline. In this course, grade eight graduates received a high school credit and the course helped with their transition to high school.
Zhahwun Shognosh is Anishnaabe from Walpole Island First Nation. She is currently the Indigenous Studies Consultant for the Lambton Kent District School Board secondary schools. Prior to this position, she was a teacher at Wallaceburg District Secondary School for twelve years.
