All Nations Volleyball Showcase

July 26 - July 28

Get ready for an exciting showcase of top Indigenous volleyball talent and culture! 🏐 On July 27th and 28th, ISWO is teaming up with Aboriginal Sports Circle, Downie Wenjack Fund, and 4 other PTASB’s to bring together Indigenous players from five Provinces/Territories to compete on composite All Nation teams against the Māori national team. Both Male and Female teams will be competing, representing a wide range of nations and cultures. Don’t miss out on this incredible event at York University, beginning at 9 AM on July 27th.

The All Nations x Māoris U20 event, is an international showcase of some of the best Indigenous volleyball players from across the northern portion of Turtle Island against the best Indigenous athletes from Aotearoa.

The male and female All Nations U20 teams have been selected to represent their respective Provincial/Territorial Aboriginal Sport Bodies to play the national Māori volleyball teams. Athletes were recommended by the 2023 North American Indigenous Games coaches and managers, in consultation with the Aboriginal Sport Circle and members of Provincial/Territorial Volleyball Sport Bodies as well as current national, U Sport and College coaches. The event will feature athletes and coaches who currently or have played at the Olympics, Canada Summer Games, U Sport and College levels.

The event will be open to spectators for a small fee with proceeds going to support increasing the accessibility of high performance sport for Indigenous athletes. Spectators will also have the opportunity to interact with the Downie-Wenjack foundation who will be on site.
