Zander is a team leader. He is a fast skater and is known for his ability to effectively back check in games. Zander scores many goals with his specialty being during short-handed plays. He is all around naturally talented.

Zander practices everyday – no matter what.  He started to create videos of his practice drills and encourages other youth to strive to be their best.

He has earned captain and assistant captain roles throughout his years of playing hockey and this is something that he takes pride in.

There are always challenges when you are a First Nations youth in any competitive sport, especially at the highest levels. Through Zander’s competitive years playing hockey, he has and continues to overcome everything and remains positive for the love of the game.

Being a First Nation youth, Zander looks up to Ethan Bear, who he sees as a true hero.

“Zander is not only one of our top players offensively, but sets the tone for the entire team with his dedication to the defensive side of the puck and his selfless play. His teammates look up to him for his constant hard work on the fore check and back check, and his desire to give 100% effort anytime he steps on the ice. In my time, I have not come across a player who better embodies the words ‘works his tail off regardless of the score’ than him.”  – Coach
